Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2016 Day 4

AKLF Day 4 starts with the first ever Heritage Instameet of the city at Park Street.
Starting point was South Park Street Cemetery, organised by the Streets Of Calcutta and Calcutta Instagrammers. After the walk was Photo-adda at the Oxford Bookstore Kolkata by ace photographers, Instagrammers and heritage bloggers of the city.

Release of River of Flesh and Other Stories: The Prostituted Woman in Indian Fiction by Keya, Sonagachhi leader. Followed by a discussion with the editor, Ruchira Gupta, Nayanika Mookherjee, Modhurima Sinha and Ratnottama Sengupta, with readings by Aparna Sen.

Flavours of Culture

Showcasing Australian master chef, food & travel writer Christine Manfield’s new book A Personal Guide to India and Bhutan. Book Release by Vir Sanghvi, followed by a conversation with chef Sharad Dewan of The Park and Nondon Bagchi.

Sugar n Spice

Christine Manfield and Meera Syal ‘sweet talk’ their way through memories of childhood and favourite desserts, while Christine does a demo of a special dessert from her book Dessert Divas.


From Poetry to Politics
Ben Okri reads his poetry. Followed by Media and Social Change: More Bark than Bite. Ashis Nandy, Vir Sanghvi, Saba Naqvi, Ruchir Joshi, Prerna Langa debate the real power of mass media to change society.

So finally its comes to end. As the curtains are drawn on and the countdown starts for . It’s been great journey through out the events. I’m happy to be a part of it. Last but not the least I want to thank all the AKLF Team, partners, Team   Social Bong and off course all people who came over and fullfill the show grand success. It’s been great to work with you guys thanks my fellow members and Indrajit Lahiri, Soumya Shankar Ghosal,  Sammya Brata & Preeti Roychoudhury for everything. It’s time to say bye, See you   AKLF 2017. Till then take care.
