The Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival (AKLF) 2016 kick started this January, this is one of the awesome literary festival in kolkata, happened every year. This Four Day 2016 edition was held from Jan 14th to Jan 17th,2016.

AKLF Started with some encouraging words from Christine Manfield.
It’s an absolute honour to be invited to participate in this year’s literary festival and to share in the spirit of Kolkata’s rich cultural life, to engage with the local audience through ongoing conversations about my culinary discoveries and the deep respect I have for India’s rich and diverse food culture. My latest book A Personal Guide to India and Bhutan is a trusted guide from my first hand experiences, to give curious travellers and readers a reliable and ideal travel companion. Plus the opportunity for share some of my dessert secrets with local food lovers in a demonstration workshop.
The Literary event that is synonymous with the City known for its aesthetics and intellectual pursuits, Touchdown successfully on 14th,2016 morning at Modern High School for Girls.
Famous model and media personality, Indrani Dasgupta Paul, authors Durjoy Datta, Anuja Chauhan and Ravinder Singh with the school management lighting the lamp. Interschool Literary Festival featured Indrani Dasgupta Paul, Anuja Chauhan, Durjoy Datta, Ravinder Singh.
The first event on time as per its schedule. The Text and the City event was attended by renowned model and media personality Indrani Dasgupta Paul with authors Durjoy Datta, Anuja Chauhan and Ravinder Singh. This was a great opportunity for school students to interact with these celebrated favorite authors, and they fully utilize this grand opportunity.
The second and last event of the day was Premiere of Aparna Sen’s Saari Raat (Hindi) at Nandan. The official inauguration of the 7th edition Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2016. This evening started with the book release of Festival Director Anjum Katyal’s tribute to veteran theater personality Badal Sircar. The festival showcased the screening of celebrated director Aparna Sen’s film Saari Raat. In the screening With Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anjan Dutt, Ritwick Chakravarty, Neel Dutt, Shailja Kejriwal and Anjum Katyal. Award winning filmmaker, screenwriter and actor Aparna Sen, spoked about her association with the festival this year and announced the all-India premiere of her film ‘Saari Raat’ based on playwright Badal Sircar’s eponymous play as the inaugural event.
The First Day ended with full of entertainment, enjoyed through out the event. Team Social Bong thanks for making this great fruitful event, happy to be part of it.
