This time event was The Open Security Community. Null Kolkata and OWASP Kolkata jointly organized this meetUp. This SillyHungama – OWASP & Null Kolkata MeetUP event happened on 4th July, 2015 at Nasscom Startup Warehouse Kolkata.
null is India’s largest open security community. Registered as a non-profit society in 2010, we have been active since even before that. null is about spreading information security awareness. All our activites such as null Monthly Meets, null Humla, null Bachaav, null Puliya, null Job Portal are for the cause of that.
The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is an online community dedicated to web application security. The OWASP community includes corporations, educational organizations and individuals from around the world.

The event started around 3.00 p.m. onwards and ending around 10.00 p.m. Firstly everyone introduce yourself and share their experience briefly, then event kicked off with first speaker Dibyendu Sikdar, he was talking this topic “Next Gen Networking ( SDN ) and Testing”
Second Speaker was Shritam Bhowmick , he was talking this topic “New Age Red Teaming : Enterprise Infiltration”.
After big round of Q & A , we moved towards next speakers Sukanya Mandal & Sumantro Mukherjee, was talked about “IoT Fundamentals & it’s Risks” topic and also showing demo on IOT. Lots of talked now time for demo they are showing a hardware project which included Arduino Uno and PIR (passive infrared sensor) motion sensor. The PIR sensor was connected to the Arduino Board and also there was a LED indicator which glowed when any motion is detected. Audience were happy to this cool demonstration.
After a small networking break with some snacks and tea, then started session with Surajeet Ghosh and he explained about “OWASP VA Audit Mechanism” topic.
Then our last speaker Saurav Modak talked about his Surprise topic followed by sharing his project about Complete P2P Text Sharing.
We are running late and also covered those topic followed by big discussion (Q & A),so event wind up around 10.00 p.m. Null Kolkata Chapter given Certificates and OWASP Kolkata Chapter given cool swags to Speakers and contributors as token of appreciation for their significant contribution and making this event fruitful.

This event audience was awesome, lots of diverse background people showing their interest towards this Open Security and related stuff. At the end of the day it was great event no doubt about it, I’m very happy to be a part of it. I want to thanks null Kolkata and OWASP Kolkata for making this event grand success and also thanks a lot Speakers, specially audience for their time; making more interactive. Last but not the least I( Sukanta Pal ) want to thanks each one of you Specially Sumantro Mukherjee, Amiya Dutta and Krishnendu Paul . Hope in future this type of event will be happen more and become more strong community near future. I will be back this type of event and awesome topic regarding Open Security stuff, Stay tuned for that.
